Rick Marshall is an award-winning writer, editor, blogger, and editorial content manager currently based in New York, NY.

As a writer, he’s reported on everything from local and national politics to pop culture and media trends, and regularly provides news, features, recurring columns, and reviews for various online, on-air, and print outlets such as MTV News, The Independent Film Channel (IFC), Digital Trends, Movies.com, and Time, Inc.

As an editor, he provides copy and content editing, content management, and production for online outlets, print publications, and literary projects. He recently served as Editor-in-Chief of the MTV News blog Splash Page, providing deadline-driven entertainment industry news and original features.

Rick has also appeared on camera for MTV News, ABC News, and various other outlets as an expert analyst covering the movie, television, comic-book, and technology industries.

In 2006, Rick was named “Writer of the Year” by the New York Press Association, and his coverage of Education, Health Care and Science, Environmental Issues, and Business, Financial and Economic News was cited in NYPA’s 2006 and 2007 awards. The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies also recognized Rick’s news reporting in their 2006 and 2007 awards.
